The Memorial Olivier Barras Memorial enters a new era

The Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club is proud to announce a major evolution for the Memorial Olivier Barras on the occasion of its 60th edition. This iconic event, which annually gathers more than 140 players, both amateurs and professionals, will now be integrated into the Swiss PGA Tour.

Key innovations for the 2024 edition

  • Increased Prize Money : To mark this collaboration with the Swiss PGA Tour and sponsorhip from Stella Artois, the prize money will be significantly increased, from CHF 15 000.- to CHF 25 000.-.
  • Name and Qualification for the Omega European Masters : The tournament's name remains unchanged but will now include the mention « The Omega European Masters Qualifier » highlighting its role as a springboard to the DP World Tour tournament taking place in September on the same course.
  • New Organizational Structure : The organizing committee will be composed of the Management of the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club, Gavin Healey, director of the Swiss PGA Tour and a representative of Swiss professional players.
  • Registrations and Administrative Management : All registrations and administrative management will be centralized by Golf Solutions (Swiss PGA Tour), ensuring a smooth and professional organization.
  • Pro-Am : A magnificent pro-am will take place on the Monday preceding the tournament. With the continuous support of our main sponsor, Bizjet SA, we promise an exceptional day, rich in competition and entertainment. Important information : A professional bringing a team to the pro-am will be guaranteed a spot in the tournament.

Tournament Information & Regulations

Format : 54 holes, stroke play

Participation (144 players)

  • 65 professionals
  • 55 men amateurs (maximum handicap 2)
  • 15 women amateurs (maximum handicap 7)
  • 9 Wild Cards distributed by the Organizing Committee

If the tournament is over subscribed players will be accepted by their 2023/2024 ranking (highest) in the following order :

  • For professionals : European Tour (all cat.), Challenge Tour (all cat.), LET (all cat.), Letas (top 100), Pro Golf/Alps Tour (top 100), Swiss PGA members (Pro series ranking from 2023), all professionals pro series ranking 2023, Swiss PGA members
  • For amateurs : WAGR ranking (top 1000) will be prioritized, followed then by the order of the lowest handicaps to determine eligibility.

Cut : After two rounds (36 holes), the top 25 professionals and those tied, as well as the top 25 men amateurs and those tied, along with the top 9 women amateurs and those tied, will qualify for the final round.

Entry Fee : CHF 200.-

Prize Money : CHF 25 000.-, distributed among the top 25 combined places for women professionals playing from the blue tees, senior professionals playing from the yellow tees, and professionals playing from the black tees.

Prizes for Amateurs : Three gross prizes for men and three for women.

Qualification for the Omega European Masters : For the 2024 edition, one spot will be offered to the tournament winner (amateur or professional) who must play from the black tees to qualify.
