Sustainability

Our Golf Club is firmly committed to sustainability

In this section, we describe our initiatives and the methodology we have implemented.

Integrating sustainability on a global scale
The golf club bases its strategy on GEO certification and the use of the OnCourse platform, thereby ensuring:

  • Credibility : GEO certification is the international benchmark for sustainable development applied to golf clubs.
  • Consistency : This choice aligns with the framework promoted by Swiss Golf and complies with the sustainability requirements of the Swiss Confederation and the cantonal authorities. Our actions are in line with the principles of the Canton of Valais’ 2030 Agenda and the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Defining strategic priorities
The Golf Club implements targeted projects, selected according to its technical and financial capacities. In 2022, a first three-year sustainability plan, based on measurable indicators, was established to ensure rigorous monitoring of our progress. All of our actions are structured around three main pillars :

  • Impact on nature
  • Resources management
  • Community involvement

Development of sector-specific partnerships
To support this process of continuous improvement, the Golf Club works with service providers specialising in biodiversity and sustainability. In 2023, we joined Switzerland Tourism’s Swisstainable program.
As a socio-economic contributor to the Haut-Plateau region, the Golf Club also maintains ongoing dialogue with local authorities, businesses, schools, and the entire local community.
